COPELAND Council is looking for three passionate individuals to help some of its most vulnerable members of the community.
The Council’s Social Inclusion team works with Copeland residents who need additional support and the team is growing fast.
It is seeking three new recruits to support its vital service: a Community Support Apprentice, Social Inclusion Administrator and a Social Inclusion Development Officer.
During the pandemic the team provided front line support to those in need.
- coordinating more than 1,900 hours of volunteering
- delivering more than 1,500 emergency food parcels
- providing 170 families with subsidised fresh food, care items, and financial guidance
- organising digital devices and internet access for 300 pupils
Emma Williamson, Social Inclusion and Community Resilience Team Leader, said: “We’re currently looking for three passionate, hardworking individuals to join our incredibly busy team.
“The roles on offer are open to people with different levels of experience, and provide the opportunity to be part of making Copeland a better place to live, work and visit.
“The work is incredibly rewarding and there’s nothing more inspiring than seeing people in the Copeland community thrive, when they are given that extra support they need. We look forward to growing and developing the team, and continuing to provide the best possible service for our residents.”
The Council’s Social Inclusion team focusses on five areas: food and financial resilience, digital inclusion, children and young people (including child poverty), domestic abuse and community based regeneration.
