Copeland Council is helping to keep its community safe with the appointment of four new dedicated Covid-19 support workers.
The Covid-19 Technical Officers have been appointed to support the council’s key work being carried out by its Public Protection and Environmental Health teams during the pandemic This includes assisting with the contact-tracing process, ensuring businesses comply with legislation, and offering advice and support to businesses and residents around safety and social distancing.
Mike Starkie, Mayor of Copeland, said: “Since the outbreak of the pandemic, our teams have led the way in supporting our community through the most challenging of times.
“None more so than in our Public Protection and Environmental Health teams. Led by Jackie O’Reilly, they have been at the forefront of working with our residents and businesses to ensure everyone is aware of - and stays within - the ever-changing and often complex regulations.
“The appointment of our team of Covid -19 Technical Officers strengthens our resources further in this department, and our community should be comforted by the fact that we have a top team at Copeland working tirelessly to keep people safe.”
