COPELAND Mayor Mike Starkie is holding two public meetings this month to discuss his budget plans.
Mr Starkie is hosting the events in Whitehaven and Millom to outline Copeland Council's proposed spending for 2020/21.
Aimed at both members of the business community and the wider public, the sessions will take place at Campus Whitehaven (the new St Benedict’s School and Mayfield school campus) on Tuesday, January 21 (6pm) and Millom Hub, Salthouse Road, on Thursday, January 23 (3.30pm). Both events will last 90 minutes.
Mr Starkie said: "I'm looking forward to sharing our budget proposals for the forthcoming year. These events are an opportunity for the community to contribute in person to the budget-setting process, and all feedback received will be taken on board as we finalise our proposals.
"After I've outlined the proposals, I'll be taking questions so this is a good chance for members of the community to have their say on the issues that matter to them."
Copeland residents also have a chance to give their views on the council’s spending plans by completing a short survey before Wednesday, January 8.
The budget consultation document and online survey are available in the ‘Publications and Consultations’ section at www.copeland.gov.uk. Hard copies are also available at Copeland Council’s offices at Market Hall, Whitehaven, and St George’s Road, Millom, in addition to all Copeland’s libraries.
