COPELAND’S food establishments have reported a clean bill of health for July.
All six venues inspected by Copeland Council’s Environmental Health team during the month achieved the highest possible rating of five.
Inspectors examine how well managed and hygienic food preparation and storage areas are.
Those to achieve the maximum rating were:
- Catering Academy, Albion Square, Whitehaven
- Mitie Catering Services, Pelham House, Calderbridge
- Lakeland Red Coffee Company, Gosforth
- Rosehill Bistro, Moresby
- The Lowther Club, Lowther Street, Whitehaven
- Pattons Family Butchers, Wellington Street, Millom
Councillor Lena Hogg, Portfolio Holder for Environmental Health, said: “These figures are very welcome and show that Copeland’s eateries set an incredibly high standard of hygiene and cleanliness.
“The assessments carried out by inspectors are robust, and for all those inspected in July to receive the maximum grade is testament to the good work being carried out, both by the establishments themselves and by this council in terms of working with owners and offering expert guidance to instil high standards.”
