Hensingham pulls together for clear-up
Wednesday September 9 2015. For immediate release
RESIDENTS are aiming to spruce up Hensingham as the community sets to work on a clean-up this week.
Local people, ward councillors and staff from Home Group and Wilmott Dixon will all be pitching in on Friday, September 11,from 1pm. Copeland Council’s cleansing team will also clean in the area that day in support of the event, and clear away the collected waste afterwards
Ward councillor Allan Forster said: “We’re just going to give the area a clear up – like most residents I don’t like to see the place with litter and mess – if we all pull together we can get a lot done, so I’m really hoping lots of local people come along and lend a hand.
The council will provide equipment for litter picking and Home Group staff will be available to tenants. The event runs from 1pm until 4pm and the meeting place is the top of Lincoln Road next to the car park.
